Local is dedicated to supporting local businesses by ​connecting them with a broader audience.

We aim to boost visibility, increase foot traffic, and ​build brand value for our partners. Through ​personalized recommendations, exclusive deals, and ​a seamless booking experience, we strive to make ​urban exploration effortless and enjoyable.

Our mission is to enhance the essence of cities by ​highlighting their unique offerings and promoting ​sustainable local commerce.

Our journey began with a simple idea:

To help people discover and enjoy the unique ​character of their city, one local business at a time.

Local was born from our desire to bridge the gap between small businesses ​and their communities. As students, we noticed hidden gems going unnoticed ​and wanted to make it easier for people to discover them.

At Northwestern University, we saw the need to boost local business visibility ​and simplify urban exploration. With backgrounds in Artificial Intelligence and ​Computer Science, we developed an app that connects people with the best ​their city offers.

Through personalized recommendations, exclusive deals, and real-time ​updates, seamless booking experiences, we transform urban experiences and ​support thriving local businesses.

The Garage at Northwestern University has been instrumental in ​Local’s success. As the official startup incubator for ​Northwestern and the Kellogg School of Management, The ​Garage provides invaluable mentorship, resources, and support.

The $6,000 in funding we received from The Garage helped us ​develop our MVP and begin onboarding vendors. Working in this ​collaborative environment, we share ideas with other ​entrepreneurs and gain insights from experienced mentors.

Being part of The Garage enables us to innovate continuously ​and contribute to Northwestern’s culture of entrepreneurship.

We are Dev Ambani and Saloni Patel, the co-founders of Local.

Together, we lead a passionate group of 20 students from Northwestern University.

Our team includes software developers, data analysts, marketing strategists, and customer support

specialists, all committed to revolutionizing urban exploration and supporting local businesses. Each member

brings unique skills and perspectives to make Local a success.
